ST PETERSBURG (Reuters) -A drone crashed right into a five-storey residential constructing in St Petersburg on Saturday and 100 folks had been evacuated with no casualties, Russia’s Rosgvardiya nationwide guard stated.
St Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov stated earlier that two buildings had been broken and residents had been evacuated after what he referred to as an “incident” with no casualties.
Beglov didn’t clarify the trigger or nature of the incident, however native residents informed Reuters that they’d heard a wierd sound adopted by a blast and a fireplace on Saturday morning.
“I first heard a whistle, as a result of I had simply opened the window, then a pop, a blaze and a full house of smoke, the window flew out,” native resident Elena informed Reuters. She stated this occurred after 0700 native time (0400 GMT).
Reuters video taken on the scene confirmed a broken facade of a constructing with blown-out home windows, broken balconies and shattered glass and particles on the bottom.
Russian media shops reported that the incident might have been brought on by a downed Ukrainian drone, which was heading in the direction of a close-by gas depot.
Ukraine’s defence ministry stated it “didn’t possess details about the indicated state of affairs”.
