Rogers to spend $10 million on park renovation

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Rogers Metropolis Council votes to spend $10 million from the final fund reserves to renovate Northwest Park.

The park renovation was one of many three predominant focuses of a bond situation in 2018. The transform will replace the park’s seven grass baseball and softball fields to eight turf fields and also will add batting cages and a playground.

“The pandemic hit proper in the course of this, every part type of bought slowed down,” stated Jim White, director of Parks and Recreation for the town of Rogers. “There’s been an amazing quantity of dialogue, and anticipation and possibly some frustration, and that’s why we’re actually excited to get this going tonight.”

White says he’s hoping to start out renovations this winter and estimated the mission to take 12-18 months to finish.
