Wilma Jean Parsons Bowden, age 81, of Nashville, Ark., handed away on Feb. 7, 2024, in a neighborhood nursing residence.
She was born Sept. 14, 1942, in Prescott, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Jewell Parsons and Lois Hartness Parsons.
Wilma was a member of the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She labored on the Little Pink Faculty Home in childcare and at Nashville Major Faculty as a trainer’s aide. She retired from the U. S. Postal Service after 25 years. She loved studying a very good novel and taking scenic drives to view the gorgeous fall foliage.
Along with her mother and father, she was preceded in dying by a son, Mark Lance Bowden, and a brother, Alton Parsons.
Survivors embody: her husband of 60 years, Jerry Bowden; son, Duane Bowden (Tammy); grandchildren Dannielle Solorzano (Frankie), Brady Bowden and Brooke Bowden, great-grandchildren Aubrey Castro, Katherine Castro and Eligh Solorzano; two sisters, Ima Semmler and Rhoda Small; a brother, Calvin Parsons; and a number of other nieces, nephews and a bunch of cousins and mates.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Nashville Cemetery, Nashville, Ark., underneath the route of Latimer Funeral Dwelling.
