Obituary: Lynda Joyce Nutt Corbell

On December 9, 2022 Lynda Joyce Nutt Corbell, devoted spouse of Terry and mom of three, handed away peacefully in an area hospital, on the age of 76. Born to WL “Sonny” & Moiviline Harris Nutt on June 16, 1946, within the outdated Nashville hospital. Lynda spent her life surrounded by household, mates and neighbors in small cities in Arkansas and briefly in Texas.

Lynda grew up in Mineral Springs together with her dad and mom and two sisters, Brenda & Denise.

Lynda spent her childhood as a scholar within the Mineral Springs Public Faculties the place she fashioned many long-standing friendships. There she loved enjoying basketball and cheerleading. She was topped the MSHS Homecoming Queen of 1963.

After marriage, Lynda and Terry relocated to Longview, Texas, after which Ore Metropolis, Texas, the place they made their dwelling till 1973. They then relocated to Foreman, Ark., the place they have been lively members of First Baptist Church and Lynda performed the organ and piano. She made many lifelong mates throughout her time there. 

From an early age, Lynda was a gifted instrumentalist and vocalist. She used these skills to reinforce the worship providers in each First Baptist Church of Foreman, Ark., in addition to Central Baptist Church of Mineral Springs. She performed piano or organ in church buildings for over 49 years.

In December of 2000 Lynda and her husband Terry adopted her father and grandfather in enterprise once they acquired Mineral Springs Motor Firm aka Sonny’s in Mineral Springs. There she labored and served the neighborhood for 7 years. 

Her grandchildren all have fond reminiscences of the “gem” of a Nana that all of them shared.  All of them loved a very good journey to Sonny’s, WalMart or The Resale Retailer, the place Nana would purchase no matter their hearts desired.  She all the time had a pantry filled with the perfect children meals round and would prepare dinner no matter was requested at any time of the day or evening.  She beloved to play board video games or go fishing with them.

In her later years she rekindled relationships and spent plenty of time together with her cousins Betty Feemster and Donna Fricks.  

Lynda shall be remembered for leaving the scent of Alfred Sung, ingesting black espresso, her heat smile and saying “hey babe” at any time when she noticed any of her children or grandkids. 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Terry Corbell, and their three kids, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Sons, Woody Corbell and his spouse Sonya of Texarkana, Ark., Blake Corbell and his spouse Tracy of Wynne, Ark., and daughter, Sandy Corbell Smith and her husband James of Ashdown, Ark. Grandsons, Cade Corbell and his spouse Mary Catherine (Eva Kate) of Damaged Arrow, Okla., Caul Corbell and his spouse Lydia (Noel, Anderson & Bishop) of Fayetteville, Ark., Hunter Corbell and his spouse Cheyenne (Cale) of Fayetteville , Ark., Colt Corbell and his spouse Lauren of  Wynne, Ark., and Will Bishop of Ashdown, Ark. Grandaughters, Carson Corbell of Texarkana, Texas, Holland Corbell Gazaway and her husband Ethan (Bennett) of Farmington, Ark., Megan Corbell Coetzer and her husband Michael (Alec, Blakeleigh & Coy) of Wynne, Ark., and Audrey Kate Bishop of Ashdown, Ark. Lynda can be survived by her sister, Denise Nutt Miller and her husband Tommy of Dierks, Ark. She is preceded in demise by her dad and mom WL & Moiviline Nutt and her sister, Brenda Sofa.

A visitation with the household shall be held at Latimer Funeral Dwelling in Nashville, Ark., on Monday Dec. 12 at midday with the service to observe at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the household asks that memorial items be made to Wright’s Chapel Cemetery, or to Central Baptist Church in Mineral Springs, the place Lynda was a longtime member.

Interment shall be at Wright’s Chapel Cemetery, Lockesburg, Ark.

This Christmas, for those who see a tree full of shining bubble lights, consider Lynda. They have been her favourite tree ornament and have been very like her … bubbly and vivid.
