A “main search and rescue operation” has been launched after a ship collided with a fishing vessel, which is assumed to have sunk, off the Jersey coast.
The incident passed off round 5.30am this morning at sea in St Ouen’s Bay.
Particles from the fishing boat is within the sea.
The RNLI’s inshore and all-weather lifeboats joined the search, in addition to two French rescue helicopters, Guernsey’s RNLI all-weather lifeboat and a French naval fixed-wing plane.
